Accreditation and Licensing
Our laboratories are dedicated to providing accurate, timely and appropriate clinical and environmental testing services to our clients.
Our Quality Management System involves regular and rigorous quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures. This includes monitoring of our organizational structure, resources and processes to ensure we meet and exceed our statutory and regulatory requirements.
The clinical testing areas maintain accreditation for specific tests by the Institute for Quality Management in Health Care (IQMH) – Centre for Accreditation by meeting the requirements of ISO 15189 and are licensed by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).
Drinking water testing areas are licensed by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. Specific drinking water tests are accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation Inc. (CALA) to ISO 17025. For a list of accredited tests, refer to the laboratories scope of accreditation on Accreditation Canada Diagnostics website and CALA website.
IQMH maintains a list of MOHLTC-licensed laboratories. For accreditation information on our laboratories, visit the Accreditation Canada Diagnostics website and search for PHO's legal name: Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion.
